CURRENT EXHIBIT
2008-2009
Lincoln, The Man
In conjunction with the 2009 bicentennial celebration of Abraham Lincoln's birth, the theme of "The James" is "Lincoln, the Man."
A highlight of the exhibit is the opportunity to place your hand on a reproduction of the 1860's cast made of Lincoln's hand during his presidential election campaign.
The exhibit also shows the personal side of Lincoln.

The James as a mobile exhibit gallery is outstanding.
You provide visitors with just enough artifacts, images, and information to get
them hooked into wanting more. I think it’s an excellent way to reach the
multitude of constituents who live in an area as geographically large as McHenry
County by making your presence known in their smaller neighborhoods.”
Mark S. Harmon,
Past President of the Illinois Association of Museums
“Thank you so much for bringing ‘The James’ to our library. We received very positive feedback from our patrons. Even though it was a very hot day, our count of James visitors was over 100! It would be wonderful if we could make this an annual event. Thank you!”
The Young Peoples Services Staff
McHenry Public Library District
“Thank you so much for participating again this year in our Sidewalk Activities. Everyone enjoyed going through the Historical Bus. It helped make the day a big success.”
Deb McClaughry, President
Riverside Area Business Assn, McHenry
