McHenry Cadette Girl Scout Troop 41

The Cadettes and fellow train passengers were stranded on the tracks for 7 hours. The troop didn't mind being stranded at all. There was a guitar player and violinist on the train and the troop sang to the passengers. The next morning the group left for a round-about-way of getting home. They had to go 600 miles out of their way. After spending two days on the train the troop arrived home safe and sound on June 18--just 27 hours late.
